Department of Periodontics

The department of Periodontics is one of the constituent department of PMS dental college. We provide excellent training for both undergraduate and postgraduate student. The department is well equipped with modern equipments, instruments and materials, and give excellent care for about 80-100 patients per day. The department of Periodontics has a full fledged compliment of teaching staff as per the mandate of the Dental Council of India.

Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Pathology

Oral & Maxillofacial Pathology is a specialty of dentistry which deals with the nature, identification and management of diseases affecting the oral and maxillofacial regions. The subject includes the microscopic examination and diagnosis of oro-facial lesions, together with a thorough understanding of molecular biology, immunology and genetics.

Department of Conservative Dentistry

The basic motto of the department is to conserve the tooth structure by rectifying minor defects of teeth in an interceptive, preventive and therapeutic angle in the adult dentition. Such procedures usually enhance the overall health of the patient and enable the tooth to fulfill its functional requirements in relation to its adjacent hard and soft tissues.

Department of Prosthodontics And Implantology

Prosthodontics is the first among the nine dental specialties recognized by the Dental Council of India (DCI) the apex body governing Dental Education, training and curricula in India. Prosthodontics deals with the diagnosis, treatment planning, rehabilitation and maintenance of the oral function, comfort, appearance and heath of patients with clinical conditions associated with missing or deficient teeth and/or oral and maxillofacial tissues using biocompatible substitutes.

Department of Community Dentistry

Anganwadi based Dental health programme is conducted in Vembayam Grama Panchayath and Nedumangad Municipality in association with respective Municipality, Grama Panchayath and Integrated Child Development Scheme (ICDS) authorities which come under social welfare department. This programme is carried out every week in Anganwadi’s in this region. Dental Health education is given to mothers, adolescents and other Anganwadi beneficiaries.

Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery

The oral and maxillofacial Surgery department at PMS College of dental science and research is an active surgical department running a successful PG program. The department deals with routine minor oral surgical procedures like surgical extractions, removal of impacted teeth, cyst Enucleation, biopsies, preprosthetic surgeries which are done under local anesthesia . Advanced laser surgeries and implantological procedures are done in our department OT.

Department of Orthodontics & Dentofacial Orthopedics

Welcome to the home page of the Department of Orthodontics at the PMS College of Dental Science and Research!The Department was started in 2002 with the goal of offering graduate study in Orthodontics. Since its inception, it has been engaged in teaching, research and patient care. Post graduate program was started in 2011.The services rendered under the Department of Orthodontics are four fold.

Pediatric dentistry (formerly Pedodontics) is an age-defined specialty dealing with children from birth to adolescence. Our discipline focuses on pediatric/adolescent growth and development, cause of the disease and its prevention, child psychology and management and all aspects of the highly specialized pediatric restorative techniques and modalities.

Department of Oral Medicine

Oral medicine is a specialty area of dentistry that is concerned with the health of the oral cavity and the diagnosis and management of diseases of the oral region. It may also include the oral and dental treatment of patients who are medically compromised, i.e, those that have medical problems where dental treatment can result in a serious complications.
