Career Guidance Cell Policy

Our aim is to act as a guiding lamp to our students in their career preparation and development. As a fresh dental graduate / post graduate our students should be able to select the right kind of career which goes well with their capabilities, skills and interests.

Objectives
To guide our students to explore knowledge, information’s, skills and experiences necessary for each career options and to help them plan for their future career endeavours based on their interests, skill and values.

  • To encourage students to sharpen their clinical skills.
  • To provide necessary coaching for interested students for various competitive examinations and entrance examinations for higher studies related to the field of dentistry.
  • To organize seminars and lectures on personality development, communication skills, leadership skills, analytical skills, soft skills etc.
  • To help students realize their strength and weakness and become more self-aware.
  • To coordinate with IDA placement cell like IDA placement cell, Dr and Dr Associates etc. for guiding the students to get occupied in various institutions or clinics.
  • To provide an overview regarding various oversee licensure examinations and prometric examinations like INBDE, DHA, HAAD, MOH, etc.
  • To provide guidance related to setting up of clinics.
  • To provide and encourage students to participate in add-on and value added courses.
  • To guide students to opportunities of higher education in India and abroad.

Functioning

A career guidance committee comprising of 4 to 5 members is constituted for coming out career guidance & placement of the students.

The committee consists of;

  1. Principal
  2. Intern Incharge
  3. Career Guidance Officer (A Senior Faculty)
  4. Administrator
  5. 1 or 2 Alumni
  • The committee should meet twice in a year for preparing an action plan of programs for the year in April.
  • A second meeting in July to consolidate the placements of the students & to prepare the respective reports to submit to the Academic Director & IQAC.

Preparative Examination Program (PEP)

PMS College of Dental Science & Research is providing training for interns for competitive examinations under the scheme Preparative Examination  Program (PEP).The program is conducted during internship posting in respective departments given in all specialties focusing on Multiple Choice  Question asked in national level competitive examinations.
