2018

  • Dr Babu Mathew, Professor Emeritus appointed as Director, Research
  • PhD Awarded to Dr Ambili R, Professor on the topic “The expression of transcription factors NF-kB and STAT3 in periodontal disease and evaluation of efficacy of a herbal drug andrographolide for periodontal therapy” from University of Kerala
  • 3 more faculty approved as PhD guides under KUHS

2019

  • Four departments got approval as Research Center from   KUHS (Dept of Periodontics, Department of Oral medicine and radiology, Department of Oral Pathology and Microbiology, Department of Pedodontics and Preventive Dentistry)
  • 1 more faculty approved as PhD guide under KUHS
  • PhD program started in Department of Periodontology and Oral Medicine and Radiology under KUHS

2020

  • Formation of Department of Research and Publications and Dr Ambili R was appointed as Director
  • Centre for PhD Research by NITTE
  • I PhD guide approved under NITTE

2021

  • PhD awarded to Dr Neethu Suresh, Reader on the topic “Effectiveness of a school oral health education intervention among 6–12-year-old children in Thiruvananthapuram educational district: A cluster randomized controlled trial” from Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology, Trivandrum.
  • Research department conducted scientific program on research grant writing and IPR by eminent faculty members.
  • An amount of Rs 0.4Lakh for research funding from KSCSTE was credited.
  • Started institutional journal in 2021 and 4 issues were released.

2022

  • Central research laboratory was started with facilities to conduct molecular biology research
  • PMS Innovation and incubation hub was started with the aim of stimulating and facilitating innovative research ideas of students and faculties
  • A major research funding of 10 lakhs was sanctioned from Department of Science and Technology
  • An amount of Rs 20.5Lakh for research funding from various government funding agencies like ICMR, DST, KSCSTE, Kerala start-up mission, etc was credited.

2023

  • College is accredited with DSIR SIRO certification from Government of INIDA in January 2023.
  • Central research Laboratory started conducting research works in Molecular Biology, Nanotechnology, Phytochemistry and Microbiology.
  • Central Research Laboratory completed 6 research works and 15 are currently ongoing (5 MDS, 4 PhD, 3 BDS, and 3 external PhD works).
  • An amount of Rs. 17.25 Lakh for research funding from various government funding agencies like ICMR & DST was sanctioned.
