Pathology is the scientific study of changes of structure and function of body in disease. The discipline of pathology forms a vital bridge between initial learning phase of preclinical sciences and final phase of clinical subjects. The subject helps the students to understand the changes occurring in the human body at anatomical and physiological levels owing to a disease process. The department helps the students in understanding the basis of different clinical scenarios which they come across in their clinical practice, enabling them to institute appropriate treatment to the patient.

The department has qualified and experienced faculties, well equipped lab facilities, library and other modern teaching facilities which help in providing good training to both postgraduate and undergraduate students. The teaching modalities include lectures, demonstrations and practical sessions which incorporates modern digital tools.

We have Classroom Associated Laboratory System (CLAB) for providing an excellent learning experience to the students. The department collaborates with other departments for interdisciplinary learning experience. The department has a good collection of gross pathological specimens and histopathology slides of various diseases which help the students to see and learn the subject better. We also have a good set of microscopes including a teaching microscope with display screen so that the students can visualize and learn histopathology and hematology slides better.
